Fairy Party for an 11 Year Old

When my 11 year old daughter asked for a Fairy Party, I wondered how I could pull it off. After much thought and lots of searching I think we made it work :) Here are some of our ideas:

We started with this invitation. This party was the inspiration for adding this invitation to my Etsy shop. The girls loved the invite probably as much as the party itself :

For Decorating we did something similar to this Etsy Shop:
Only I added flowers to ours.  They were so perfect hanging in the trees.  It would be easy to make, or fun to buy these little mirrors. We found a package at Michaels of round mirrors for inexpensive and made our own.

Its harder to see, but they were just so fun. Each girl took one or two home with them when the party was over.

When the girls came the first thing we did while we waited was played a fairy matching game. We bought this digital print then we could print as many copies as we needed.  We also made a game for each of the girls for a party favor:

You won't be able to copy this image, it is watermarked, but the cost to purchase the digital image from this Etsy shop is only $3.50. I felt like it was well worth the money.

Next we painted "Fairy Houses."  We went to JoAnn's and found some cute little bird houses for $1.  Perfect price for me :)  Then I bought some paints and bought some glitter to sprinkle on top. The girls enjoyed making their houses:

While we had the paints out, we made Fairies to go with the houses.  This is a fun idea we found on Pintrest.  The picture is a link to the site.  They are very simple and so fun!

Then all the girls went in the back yard and searched for a Fairy. There are 8 Fairies included and they are $3 to print as many as you want. Once again, this picture has a watermark so you won't be able to print this one. These Fairies came from this shop:

To the back of these Fairies we added a small house charm from this Etsy shop:

Then it was time for presents and Cupcakes. With the cupcakes I decorated with a beautiful edible butterfly from this shop. These are so beautiful and easy to use.

For Party Favors, the girls each had their Fairy Houses, a Fairy Light, Fairy charm, the Fairies they made, a delicious candy stick, a Fairy Magnet made out of buttons from this Etsy shop:

and we included a Fairy necklace from my shop :)

Overall, the party was a great success. Hopefully some of these ideas help with your Fairy Party!

  1. Aww your girl is so lucky to have such a crafty mom! Looks like a good time, and I love those fairy houses! I saw them at Jo Anns for a dollar and thought so cute, but what can I do with them? Great idea.
