I recently had a friend tell me about Amber necklaces for your teething baby.  They just need to wear the necklace or bracelet (not necessary to chew on it).  From the mothers that seem to have tried it, they say it is amazing! So I've found a few on Etsy.  I may try one, but have not yet.  The picture is a link to the shop that sales each item. These are all different shops, some of the less expensive that I have found.

My Story

The last several years I have had some amazing goals and dreams.  Last year I decided to run a marathon, and I did it! At the end of last year I decided to open my Etsy shop. Something I had wanted to do for awhile, but just deciding on what to sell was the tricky part.  Well, I started with some crochet things then switched gears a bit. Decided that I love doing birthday party items.  I came up with the idea of Fairy Dust jars when I was thinking back to my daughters birthday party and had given small jars of glitter as a party favor.  So I found some cute jars with a cork and started selling "Fairy Dust" in my shop. Since then I've had several people ask me "What do you do with it?"  These are people that are familiar to me.  If I had asked people if this would sell and their thoughts before I started selling them, I probably wouldn't have started selling them. This has made me realize that we need to just go for our dreams. Try something. If it doesn't work, that's ok! Move on and try something else.  Since putting my jars on my shop a few months ago, I have now sold over 400 jars!

So I say to anyone who has a thought, dream, goal, etc. as long as it is good, go for it! Live your goals, your dreams, and LOVE life!

New Ideas

Recently I had a customer ask me to make her some Fairy Dust Jars using pink, white, and purple then some of the stars on top. Then for the boys blue, white then blue again with stars on top. I love how they turned out and put them for sale in my shop.  I've had so many views and some purchases!  I love NEW IDEAS :)

An Irish Prayer...

A friend posted this. Loved it and wanted to share:

May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Another one of my favorite shops.  These are second chance crayons. Crayons that have been melted down and poured into fun shapes. I love all the different shapes. Here are some of their fun crayons:

Eggs
Cupcakes

Farm
 Popsicle

These are only a few of what they have. They have about 500 items in their shop, so fun I wanted to share!  Click on the pictures to see their shop.

Custard Pie!

So I'm sure everyone has some favorite family recipes. This is one of ours! We love eggs in our family so this is one of our many recipes involving eggs.  Wanted to share :)

Custard Pie:

4 Eggs
3/4 C. Sugar
1/2 C. Flour
1 tsp. Vanilla
1/4 tsp. Nutmeg
1/4 C. Melted Margarine (I use butter)
2 C. Milk

I like to add a dash of cinnamon to the top.

Combine all ingredients in blender.  Mix well and pour into greased pie plate.  Cool before cutting.  Bake at 350 degree for 40 min or until golden brown (my oven must take longer, it took almost double that time.  Check with a tooth pick it should come out clean)

Updating Shop Pictures

So I've learned a lot the last few months as I have had my shop.  The biggest thing is that I can take decent pictures with an inexpensive camera.  It just takes practice. So, here is a picture I took today to upgrade one of the listings in my shop.  Here is the new picture:

Here is the old picture:

Hopefully over time all the pictures on my shop will begin to look more professional :)

bonitapatterns on Etsy  Found these on Etsy and thought they were adorable. This link is for a pattern to buy to make them.

"Pockets"

I wanted to share this idea I've had.  These are "pockets" or pouches or bags, whatever you want to call them.  They would be so fun for party favors, gifts, etc.  The best parts are they are so easy to make and you can make any design you want.  The picture about shows the Shamrock Pocket.  I started shipping all my orders (that will fit) in these cute little "pockets." Until St. Patrick's is over, then I'll find another one.

So you start out with any shape you want.  I suggest cutting a piece of card stock paper first then cutting out 2 of your shape.  If you are using a felt with glitter or a design, make sure the back you are cutting out opposite of the front so your design shows up on both sides.  Then sew along the top edge of only one of your sides (make sure to backstitch) this will give you a finished look.  Then take the other side and finish sewing all the way around.  A fun idea for party favors, etc.  If you don't like to sew or would rather not, you can buy some on my shop and even request any shape (I can attempt it for you :) )
